Who Are FCD's Members?
The Forum for Corporate Directors' membership includes Orange County's most prominent public and private companies' business and community leaders, in both public and private corporations. Also, professional services organizations and individual contributors to those in Board and C-level leadership roles are key members in FCD.
Our members are committed to creating value for their organizations and promoting the highest standards of corporate ethics and best governance practices while also sharing their experiences with their fellow members and directors. Orange County's top business executives, directors and emerging next-generation corporate leaders know that the FCD is the one place to find Orange County's leading resource for achieving Board excellence.
FCD's goal is to promote the highest standards of corporate ethics and best governance practices, create forums for director peer interactions, and enhance director effectiveness through high-quality and timely education and development events and programs addressing areas that include:
- Creating Effective Boards
- Role of Board in Corporate Strategy
- Director Duties, Rights & Liabilities
- Latest Updates on Sarbanes-Oxley
- Effective Audit Committees
- Board and Shareholder Communications
- Executive Compensation
- Risk Management
- Board's Response to Unsolicited Takeover Offers
FCD individual member benefits
- Complimentary admission and/or reduced member rates to all of FCD's monthly events and programs, which feature nationally and regionally recognized expert speakers on contemporary governance and director issues.
- Inclusion in exclusive "members only" Roundtables and Executive Previews.
- Special invitations (and in some cases, discount admissions) to other FCD-sponsored events, such as ACG's CEO talk and the Orange County Public Company Forum.
- Invitation to attend FCD's annual Directors' Institute , which is an eight hour (over two half-days) fall event that features eight hours of instruction from the faculty of the FCD Director Education program. This is an ISS-certified director education program.
- Access to the Knowledge Center and the FCD Document Repository.
- Discounted participation in select governance educational programs at The Paul Merage School of Business at UC Irvine.
And, our most important benefit - the opportunity to build value-added relationships with public and private company directors and Orange County business leaders. There is a real emphasis on building relationships and sharing knowledge and experiences. Over 25% of FCD members actively volunteer on committees, which provide an opportunity not only to influence FCD programs and services but also establish strong working relationships with other Orange County business leaders and directors.
