Educational Series
FCD conducts a variety of educational series throughout the year - each designed to inform directors and senior executives on the issues of corporate governance and to assist them in their pursuit of exercising the best practices of corporate governance. Dinners, Roundtables and Executive Previews are included in membership dues.
Dinner Meetings
Three dinner meetings are scheduled through the year and feature nationally recognized and prominent speakers. Guest tickets are also available at a non-member rate.
Director's Roundtables
Comprised of small groups of members, the two yearly roundtables offer Directors the opportunity to speak candidly with peers about actual problems and issues confronting management and the board. Led by a facilitator and featuring a case study format, the detailed discussions and problem solving provide valuable ideas that lead to improved Director and Board effectiveness. These events are complimentary, restricted to members only, and typically provide about three hours of content and discussion.
Breakfasts
Held three times per year, these programs feature a well-known CEO or a panel of experts on subjects relating to the dynamic role of the corporate director. Content may include topics on:
- Improving communications between management and the board.
- The changing responsibilities of committees.
- Working to improve the value of the company.
Breakfasts are open to members and non-members at a modest fee.
Executive Previews
Executive Previews are presented three times a year. These are exclusive, members-only opportunities to experience modules from the Corporate Membership In-Boardroom training program. Topics are leading edge and immediately relevant for active directors. The sessions feature presentations by members of FCD's faculty of subject matter experts.
Special Events
During the course of the year, the Programs Committee will arrange a limited number of special events. These events are determined based upon the availability of speakers of national acclaim. Certain special events may be co-sponsored with other leading Southern California organizations.
